Venue Guide

Ford Field Venue Guide

Ford Field is a domed stadium, so it holds far more fans than the arenas used in earlier rounds.

Address: 2000 Brush St., Detroit, MI 48226, in downtown Detroit.

Home team: the Detroit Lions. The stadium opened in 2002.

Capacity: about 65,000 for football. For the Final Four the NCAA uses a temporary in-the-round seating layout with room for 70,000 or more fans, and Ford Field was the first venue to use it in 2009.

Host: Michigan State University. The bid was led by the Detroit Sports Commission, Visit Detroit, Michigan State, the City of Detroit, Ford Field and the Lions.

Tournament history: it hosted the Midwest Regional in 2008 and the Final Four in 2009, and hosted Super Bowl XL in 2006.

Getting there: parking and transit details for the Final Four will come from the NCAA and the host, so check NCAA.com closer to April.
